Ever wandered how to be creative with a computer?

There are free courses in creative coding in Thanet next month.

Are you over 50 with grand children who love to play computer games? Take it to the next level. By joining this course you can work with your grand-daughter to learn how to program a computer to make your own animations and games.

Keep up with the digital generation!

Invent your own colourful animations and video games.

Learn how to program computers with your grand-daughter. Free workshops help you to make computer animations and games which will be shown at GEEK at Dreamland and POW Thanet - International Women's Week 2017. The courses are supported by Ageless Thanet.

The course is made up of 5 workshops each lasting 2 hours with refreshments served. The results will be shown at Geek 2017 and POW Thanet. The workshops will be run by Nicola and Tim from award winning local art group Genetic Moo. We want to explore the creative potential of computers and also provide girls with practical coding skills. Programming may also be a new skill for older people and working together with kids is a great way to learn, have fun and get to grips with the exciting digital world which surrounds us all.

POW Thanet's theme this year is #BeBoldForChange and these workshops will certainly provide a great challenge. We want to see what fantastic voyages you can create as animating avatars and sci-fi landscapes fly across your screens.
